Hey there, Belles and Beaus! With your big day just around the corner, have you thought about putting together a handy emergency kit filled with essentials to make sure everything runs smoothly? From unexpected hiccups to minor mishaps, being prepared can make a world of difference on your wedding day. When we are coordinating a wedding, we always have a huge wedding kit we take with us to every wedding! Some of this stuff may seem silly, but I guarantee we use more than a few of these at every single wedding we've coordinated. So, let's dive into the things you definitely don't want to forget which might just save the day!

The Must-Haves for Your Wedding Kit

  • First Aid Kit and Medication: Breaking in those gorgeous new shoes might lead to blisters, but with some trusty band-aids on hand, you'll be dancing the night away pain-free. Also some rubbing alcohol wipes and Neosporin. Now onto the medications to remember. Pack a variety of pain relievers like Midol, Tylenol, Excedrin, and Advil to keep those pesky headaches or cramps at bay. I usually make sure there's some sinus medications like Tylenol Sinus and Benadryl in there, as well as, a roll of Tums, Pepto Bismol, and some Imodium!

  • Crochet Hook: If your dress has intricate buttons, a crochet hook helps the task get accomplished with quickness!

  • Quick Fixes: From bouquet mishaps to dress emergencies, you want to make sure you have a few things on hand. Zip ties are versatile and can quickly fix any unexpected issues that may arise. Safety pins are always important to have on hand. Throughout planning and coordinating many weddings we also include these items in our day of kit: nail polish remover, lint roller, cotton balls, floss, duct tape, floral wire, Q-tips, fishing line, wire cutters, static guard, crazy glue, a small sewing kit, stain remover, Ivory Soap, double sided tape, a lighter, and a pocket knife.

  • Hygiene Products: Stay fresh and confident throughout the day with a travel-sized deodorant in your emergency kit. Bring tampons or pads with you in case you or one of your girls has an unexpected visitor. Floss, breath mints and mouth wash are always good to have on hand.

The Must-Haves Beyond Your Wedding Kit

  • Steamer: We do a complementary steam on our bride's gowns the week prior to the wedding. That being said wrinkles can happen in transport. Especially with bridesmaids gowns and certain fabrics. We always bring our large steamer to weddings, but you definitely need to bring at least a hand held steamer with you to get out any last minute wrinkles. A lot of venues even have one you can use, so check with them before you buy one.

  • Electrical:  Take care when packing stuff. Chargers keep our society running, so make sure your phone charger is with you in case someone like a vendor or coordinator need to reach you while you are getting ready. Also bring an extra extension cord if everyone is getting hair and make up ready in the same room.

  • Kid-Friendly Activities: If little ones are part of your special day, keep them entertained with some kid-friendly activities to ensure a smooth and enjoyable celebration for everyone. We always keep crayons, a coloring book, and some cheap toys just in case some of the tiny guests become fussy and need entertaining.

Tips and Tricks

  • Ivory Soap: Accidents happen, but with ivory soap in hand, you can easily remove makeup stains from your beautiful dress without a fuss. Just rub the dry bar on the make up.

  • Red Wine: If someone happens to spill red wine on your gown, pour white wine on the same area and with a paper towel it should pull most of it out. Literally I know a bride who needed this and is actually the person who told me about how well it worked!

  • Amodex Kit: Then my amazing trick solution! It is Amodex Ink and Stain Remover! It is fantastic at removing anything we have tried in on! Click the link to Amazon to purchase it! Trust me. It is definitely worth it!
